2. Website access and hosting
When you access this website, technically necessary connection data are processed. These may include your IP address, date and time of access, requested address, amount of data transferred, browser and device information and security-related events.
The purposes are to deliver the website, maintain stable and secure operation and prevent misuse. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is the secure and reliable operation of our website.
This website is hosted by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Strasse 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany. IONOS processes the data required for operation on our behalf. ValuePolitics does not use IONOS WebAnalytics, its own audience analytics, advertising tracking or the optional CDN.
Technical logs are retained in accordance with the hosting agreement only as long as necessary for operation, security, troubleshooting and contractual or legal obligations.
3. Contact form and email
When you contact us, we process the information you provide, including your name, email address, organisation, type of enquiry and message, as well as the selected language and time received. The form data are checked on the IONOS web server and then sent to ValuePolitics by email. The website does not maintain a contact database.
To prevent automated misuse, a temporarily pseudonymised verification value may be generated from the IP address. It is used only to limit repeated form submissions, stored for no more than ten minutes and not combined with the content of your enquiry.
We process the data to respond to your enquiry. If your enquiry concerns a contract or pre-contractual steps, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Otherwise it is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is handling business, research and media enquiries and protecting the form against misuse.
Enquiries are deleted once the matter is complete and no contractual or statutory retention ground remains. Email communications are processed through Microsoft 365.
3a. Appointment booking and Teams meetings
The Microsoft Bookings calendar loads only after you select “Load booking calendar”. Your browser then connects to Microsoft and transmits technical connection data such as your IP address and browser information. You can alternatively open the booking page in a new tab or contact us by email.
To arrange appointments, we process your name, email address, selected appointment and any optional notes about your enquiry. The data are stored in Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online and used to manage appointments, confirmations and calendar invitations. Online meetings take place through Microsoft Teams. The purposes, legal bases and retention information for contacting us, together with the general information in this policy, also apply.
4. Email updates
We use Brevo for email update subscriptions. When you submit the form, your email address and consent are sent directly to the Brevo sign-up form. Brevo processes the subscription and records its confirmation, including technical connection data. Newsletter contacts are managed in the Brevo list “ValuePolitics Newsletter”. The legal basis is your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR; German Section 7 UWG also applies to electronic marketing.
Subscriptions use double opt-in: after submitting the form, you receive an email with a confirmation link. Your address is added to the newsletter list only after you click that link. You receive no newsletters without confirmation.
You may withdraw consent at any time with future effect through the unsubscribe link in every future email or by emailing kontakt@valuepolitics.com. Processing carried out before withdrawal remains lawful.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
ValuePolitics currently uses no analytics, marketing or personalisation cookies and embeds no external fonts or social-media trackers. The hosting platform may store or access strictly necessary information where required for transmission, security and the website service expressly requested by you. Such access does not require consent under Section 25(2) TDDDG.
If we introduce technologies that require consent, we will obtain consent before activating them and update this policy.
6. Recipients and international transfers
Personal data are received only by authorised persons at ValuePolitics and service providers necessary for the relevant purpose. These include IONOS for web hosting, Microsoft for email communication, appointment booking and online meetings through Microsoft 365, Bookings and Teams, and Brevo for newsletter subscriptions, contact management and delivery. Where required, providers act as processors.
Where service providers process data outside the European Economic Area, this occurs only in accordance with Articles 44 et seq. GDPR, in particular on the basis of an adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. Retention
We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the relevant purpose. We then delete it unless statutory retention duties, the establishment or defence of legal claims, or continuing consent justify further retention. We review necessity regularly.
8. Your rights
Subject to the statutory conditions, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and data portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent at any time with future effect.
To exercise your rights, email kontakt@valuepolitics.com. You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. The relevant authority is in particular the Saxon Data Protection and Transparency Commissioner, Maternistraße 17, 01067 Dresden, Germany.
9. Automated decisions
We do not use automated decision-making, including profiling, within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR.
